Airto Moreira - The Other Side Of This
Rykodisc

Rykodisc

Year of release:

1992

General:

This album has nothing to do with Kitaro's music, because it is World Music with incluences from Cuba, Africa, etc. It's by Airto Moreira (produced by Mickey Hart) and Kitaro joined for two songs. He didn't play synthesizers, he clapped the wood, stomped and did some vocals together with other musicians. I took this album in my list for the sake of completeness.

Track list:

  1. Endless Cycle
  2. Tumbleweed
  3. Back Streets of Havanna
  4. Healing Sounds
  5. The Underwater People
  6. Old Man's Song
  7. Hey Ya
  8. When Angels Cry
  9. Dom - Um (A Good Friend)
  10. Street Reunion
  11. Mirror of the Past
  12. Sedonia's Circle
  13. Terra E Mar

My opinion:

Interesting album, but has no connection to the music of Kitaro. If you want "New Age music", don't buy it. If you like instrumental music with influences from all over the world, you can have a lot of fun with it.
